The Hindustan Motors Ambassador stayed in production in more or less the same form from 1958 through 2014, a feat bested only by the Volkswagen Beetle Type 1 (1938-2003). The assembly-line lifespans of such mayflies as the Peugeot 504 (1968-2006) or BMC Mini (1959-2000) were just a blink of the eye next to the Ambassador, which was based on the 1956 Morris Oxford (itself a facelifted version of the 1954 Oxford).

As you'd expect, hundreds of millions of Indians love the Amby, and so it makes sense that the Central Industrial Security Force would use a trio of Ambassadors when demonstrating to Prime Minister Narendra Modi just how the CISF escapes from sniper attacks and/or bombing attempts, as part of their 50th-anniversary celebration. The VIP Ambassador rolls up to the reviewing stand, flanked front and rear by the Pilot Car Ambassador and the Escort Ambassador, and then the action gets rolling, with mock gunfire and Bollywood-grade pyrotechnics.
