We can’t help but think the A90 Toyota GR Supra hasn’t quite hit the spot. Is the answer more power? We’re not so sure – it’s already a very quick car, but hey, we’ll not say no to an increase in poke. And who better to supply it than Litchfield?

The UK-based tuner – perhaps best known for its work with Nissan GT-Rs – has already pumped the output of the BMW-sourced B58 twin-scrolled turbo straight-six beyond 420bhp via an ECU fettle. That’s a huge increase on the 335bhp stock figure, but don’t forget, Toyota’s numbers are extremely conservative – Litchfield’s initial rolling road session revealed that the car actually made 376bhp and 390lbft of torque, mirroring the results of a Supra dyno session CT arranged a few weeks back.

So it’s not as big a leap as you might think, but worry not, as there’s more to come. According to Pistonheads, the Litchfield Supra will be kicking out 450bhp when it’s finished. The final product will sound better too, thanks to a new exhaust system which will come from – depending on your preference – Milltek or Akrapovic.

We heard the Milltek A90 Supra system for the first time a few weeks ago and were impressed, and the Akrapovic pipes (below) sound suitably fruity too. Whichever you go for, the petrol particulate filter will be kicked to the kerb.

The standard A90 is softer than you might expect, but if you want to firm things up, Litchfield has you covered too. Along with the engine mods, the company has a range of chassis upgrades inbound, including coilovers from either KW or Bilstein, stiffer springs, and a strut brace.

The finishing touches will come in the form of some subtle but effective carbonfibre body trim pieces.

We can’t wait to see how it all shapes up.
