Elon Musk doubles down on SEC, says Tesla was close to death in '60 Minutes' interview

“I want to be clear,” Musk said during a “60 Minutes” interview on Sunday on CBS. “I do not respect the SEC.”

He did qualify that statement, saying, “the only tweets that would have to be, say, reviewed, would be if a tweet had a probability of causing a movement in the stock price.”

So, there is a leash somewhere, it’s just a long one.

Musk also said that he doesn’t want to be chairman again and that he would prefer “to have no titles at all.”

The interview focused on Tesla operations in the past year and on the ramp-up of Model 3 production.
