Next-gen S-Class interiors with giant touchscreen spied

Spy pictures showing the interior of the upcoming S-Class have leaked online. The pictures reveal a camouflaged interior with a large vertically mounted infotainment screen and a digital instrument panel.

The new S-Class will come equipped with a Tesla-esque, portrait style touchscreen system on the centre console. At the bottom of the screen, there are a few buttons for driving modes, parking camera, fan speed, hazard lights, power button, mute and volume. There is also a button which looks like a small joystick or a fingerprint sensor housed between the power and hazard light switches, and a button which appears to control car settings.

The car also gets a digital instrument panel, which could be bigger than the one in the existing car. A three-spoke steering wheel gets steering mounted controls. Black leather upholstery with contrast stitching can also be seen on the centre console and door pads.

Last month, we had reported that the S-Class would be developed on 2 separate platforms – one could come with plug-in hybrid powertrains, while the other is expected to be an all-electric EQ S model, which might be sold under the German car makers electric sub-brand.
