WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca offers Monterey Speed Week and North America’s best 2019 schedule.

Who’d have guessed that in 2019 we’d be settling into a new golden era of road racing in North America? But it’s undeniably here.

Tracks are seeing record attendance, the grids are packed and the racing is as good as it’s ever been. The best time and place to witness it for yourself is at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca during the first-ever Monterey Speed Week.

The event will span back-to-back weekends, bringing late-season action from two of the world’s most exciting racing series to the Monterey Peninsula. It all starts with the penultimate race of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship on Sept. 13-15. With two highly competitive classes of prototypes — including the fully uncorked, track record-setting DPi cars — and two classes of GT cars hitting the track with championships on the line, the weekend will be a showcase for the kind of competitive, compelling sports car racing many believed was gone for good. It isn’t.

The party will roll on all week, with the NTT IndyCar Series bringing the world’s most entertaining open-wheel racing back to WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca on the following weekend, Sept. 20-22. Mario Andretti, Alex Zanardi, Bryan Herta, Bobby Rahal and more have made career-defining memories on the Monterey Peninsula. With IndyCar returning after a 15-year absence, the current crop of superstar drivers is itching to make its mark on one of the world’s most famous circuits. By the time Monterey Speed Week is over, one of them will be crowned NTT IndyCar Series champion.
