BMW has launched the X4 M40i in India. The SUV will be available in limited numbers and will be imported via the CBU route. It is priced at Rs 96.20 lakh (ex-showroom).
The BMW X4 is essentially an SUV with a stylish coupe-like roofline. Being the sportier M40i variant, it gets a dark BMW M kidney grille with smoked LED headlamps up front, 20-inch Jet Black M light alloy wheels with M Sport brakes and red brake calipers and sleek LED tail lights with dual exhaust tips at the back.
The X4 M40i has a dual-tone interior with carbon fibre trim and a sporty 3-spoke steering wheel. The SUV is equipped with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a touchscreen infotainment system of a similar size. It also gets 3-zone automatic climate control, reclining rear seats and a panoramic sunroof.
At the heart of the X4 M40 is a 3.0-litre, 6-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that makes 355 BHP @ 5,200-6,500 rpm and 500 Nm @ 1,900-5,000 rpm. The engine is mated with an 8-speed automatic transmission and an all-wheel drive system. The SUV gets adaptive suspension and an M Sport differential with Automatic differential locks.
