Inside MMX: A Modern Mopar Mecca

Dave Weber, the founder and owner of Modern Muscle Xtreme, has been in the business of getting big power out of Mopar engines longer than many people have been alive, and the years spent unlocking the secrets of horsepower from Mopar’s engines makes him one of the foremost experts in the field. After starting a business with his brother, he formed a shop called Weber Machine in New York where he got connected with Arrington Racing, which eventually led to a move south where NASCAR is king. Once Arrington was sold, he decided to strike out on his own, and Modern Muscle Xtreme was born.

Driving down the rural road outside Martinsville, Virginia, you would never expect the operation that Dave and his team has built to lie around the final corner. The complex sports several buildings with room to build cars, multiple CNC machines, and a space dedicated to two different dynos. With more than 40 years of HEMI experience to build from, they have made a name for themselves as one of the best sources for the latest HEMI power plant from Dodge, the Gen III. They build engines, modify customer parts, sell tons of product, design solutions to problems, and even build cars on the property.

It truly is a modern Mopar Mecca with a great group of people working to make it all happen, and if you’re on Power Tour next month, consider taking a trip down the road about half an hour to check their place out, especially if you’re a Mopar fan. It’s only about a half hour from Martinsville Speedway down a beautiful road, and they’d be more than happy to show you around.
