This is what a 1.92-second F1 pit stop looks like

The length of our pit stops at the gas station is directly proportional to the temperature outside — they're far quicker in the winter months — but they're not as quick as those of the Williams F1 team. Just 1.92 seconds is all that the pit crew of Felipe Massa's car needed in 2016 at the F1 Grand Prix of Europe in Baku, Azerbaijan, when the Baku city circuit played host to Formula 1 GP for the first time. It takes longer than 1.92 seconds to even say "Azerbaijan."

Williams recorded three out of the four fastest pit stops in that race, in the process matching the record for the fastest pit stop ever with its 1.92-second time. Red Bull driver Mark Webber's team posted an identical time a few years prior, achieved by the Red Bull team at the 2013 United States Grand Prix. Red Bull's 1.92-second time in 2013 was actually the first pit stop to sneak in under the 2.0-second mark when it comes to official times.

In fact, the 2016 Grand Prix of Europe in Baku produced a bumper crop of fast pit stops: 21 out of the 33 pit stops in that race came in below the 3.0-second mark.

Until Webber's 1.92-second pit stop in 2013, a 2.31-second stop by McLaren's Jenson Button at the 2012 German Grand Prix was among the quickest recorded.

As quick as Williams pit stops were in the 2016 Baku race, it was Nico Rosberg and Mercedes who captured the first Grand Prix victory in Baku that day.
