Bajaj Auto has announced that order books for the new Husqvarna Svartpilen 250 and the Vitpilen 250 have commenced across the country. The bike maker has also announced prices for the new motorcycles with both the bikes priced at ₹ 1.80 lakh (ex-showroom, Introductory). Sweden’s Husqvarna brand made its India debut at the 2019 India Bike Week last December and the new motorcycles are tailor-made for the Indian market based on the larger Svartpilen and Vitpilen 401. The new Husqvarna bikes will be sold via the 400 KTM dealerships located in 275 towns pan India.

The new Husqvarna bikes feature a neo-retro design language. The Svartpilen 250 stands for “Black Arrow” in Swedish and features a more upright stance and a Scrambler design language, complete with dual-sport tyres and a sump guard. The Vitpilen 250 stands for “White Arrow” in Swedish and has a cafe racer-inspired design. The handlebar is hunkered down low for an aggressive and sporty cafe racer stance. Both bikes get a retro-styled digital instrument console and share their underpinnings with the KTM 250 Duke, complete with the Trellis frame.

The Husqvarna Vitpilen 250 and the Svartpilen 250 draw power from 248 cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine develops 29.5 bhp at 9000 rpm and 24 Nm of peak torque at 7500 rpm. Both bikes use a 43 mm USD front fork and rear monoshock suspension. The braking set-up includes ByBre four-piston caliper with a 320 mm disc on the front wheel, and a single-piston caliper on a 230 mm disc on the rear wheel. the Svartpilen weighs 154 kg (kerb), while the Vitpilen is one kilo lighter in comparison.
