Vehicles Affected: Approximately 322,900 model-year 2014-19 Acura MDX and model-year 2017-19 MDX Sport Hybrid SUVs
The Problem: Moisture may enter the tailgate lid lights, possibly causing a loss of the tailgate lid lights and tailights, reducing the vehicle's visibility and increasing the risk of a crash.
The Fix: Dealers will modify the tailgate lid lights and install updated gaskets and a wiring sub-harness, or they will replace both tailgate lid lights. All repairs will be performed for free.
What Owners Should Do: Acura parent company Honda will begin notifying owners April 29. Owners can call the automaker at 888-234-2138, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 or visit its website to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
