2015-2019 Volkswagen Cars and SUVs: Recall Alert

Vehicles Affected: Approximately 56,100 model-year 2017-19 Volkswagen Golf SportWagen wagons, model-year 2019 Jetta sedans, model-year 2015-19 Golf hatchbacks and model-year 2018-19 Tiguan SUVs

The Problem: The rear coil springs may prematurely fracture, which may damage a rear tire and cause a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash.

The Fix: Dealers will replace the rear-axle coil springs for free.

What Owners Should Do: Volkswagen began notifying owners April 19. Owners can call the automaker at 800-893-5298, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 or visit its website check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
