Vehicles Affected: Approximately 26,800 model-year 2016-18 Cadillac CTS sedans, and model-year 2017 Cadillac ATS sedans, Chevrolet Camaro coupes and Chevrolet Corvette sports cars
The Problem: The electric power steering assist system may fail, which would require a higher steering effort, especially at lower speeds, that may increase the risk of a crash.
The Fix: Dealers will replace the power steering gear assembly for free.
What Owners Should Do: Cadillac and Chevrolet manufacturer GM will begin notifying owners by the end of March. Owners can call Cadillac at 800-458-8006, Chevrolet at 800-222-1020, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 or visit its website to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
