Vehicles Affected: Approximately 1,300 model-year 2016 Hyundai Genesis Coupes
The Problem: The mounting bolts securing the driver-side frontal airbag may have been insufficiently tightened, potentially causing the airbag to detach from the steering wheel, increasing the risk of injury in the event of a crash.
The Fix: Dealers will inspect the mounting bolts and retighten them, as necessary, for free.
What Owners Should Do: Hyundai will begin notifying owners of the recall June 26. Owners can call the automaker at 855-371-9460, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 or visit its website to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
