Vehicles Affected: Approximately 12,400 mdoel-year 2019 Hyundai Veloster hatchbacks
The Problem: In certain side impact crashes, the driver’s door latch housing and locking cable can become damaged, allowing the driver-side door to open, increasing the risk of injury in the event of a crash.
The Fix: Dealers will replace the driver-side door latch assembly and lower channel for free.
What Owners Should Do: Hyundai will begin notifying owners June 14. Owners can call the automaker at 855-371-9460, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 or visit its website to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
