Vehicles Affected: Approximately 188,200 model-year 2019 Subaru Ascent SUVs, Impreza sedans and hatchbacks, Legacy sedans and Outback wagons
The Problem: The low-pressure fuel pump may include an impeller manufactured with a lower density that may develop cracks, potentially causing it to become inoperative, increasing the risk of a crash.
The Fix: Dealers will replace the fuel pump for free.
What Owners Should Do: Subaru will begin notifying owners June 5. Owners can call the automaker at 844-373-6614, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 or visit its website to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
