2020 Mahindra Bolero BS6 Facelift Spied; Majority Of The Changes Centred Around Its Looks

The transition to BS6 norms is about to happen in a couple of weeks as the new emission regulations will be mandated nationwide from April 1, 2020. While automakers have already converted most of their products to BS6, few are yet in the process. The next BS6 model from Mahindra’s stable which is expected to go on sale soon is the Bolero, spy images of which have surfaced online. This time around, the Bolero will not be updated just with a BS6 engine, but there will be cosmetic updates as well, majority of which will be centred around its looks.

The 2020 Mahindra Bolero Facelift gets new, headlamps, bumper and tweaked grille.

For starters, the new Mahindra Bolero 2020 will get a revised grille, slightly tweaked hood and new cluster design for the headlamps which are still halogen units but get a neat partition integrating the beam light, hazard light and parking light. The front bumper is completely redesigned as well incorporating a new air dam and fog lamps housing. At the rear, changes are limited to tweaked tail lamps and door handle for boot gate. We also get a glimpse of the digital instrument cluster which looks similar to the one in the outgoing model.

At the rear there are revised tail lamps and door handle.

The 2020 Mahindra Bolero is expected to get a BS6 version of the same 1.5-litre, three-cylinder engine that does the duty in the Mahindra Bolero Power Plus. The engine is mated to a five-speed manual gearbox as standard and puts out 70 bhp and 195 Nm of peak torque. The BS6 Bolero is also expected to comply with the upcoming road safety norms and hence will be equipped with features like Dual airbags, high speed alert, driver and co-driver seatbelt reminder and rear parking standard.

The instrument panel remain identical to the one in the outgoing model.

The Mahindra Bolero has been the bestselling model for the company almost throughout its lifecycle, being quite in demand in the Tier 2 and rural markets. Even last year, the Bolero maintained its dominance selling 69,656 units and has been the company’s bestseller in the first two months of 2020 as well, selling over 5500 units in both January and February.
