When Bentley turned 100, the British automaker launched a raft of celebratory models in the form of centenary editions, as well as the futuristic EXP 100 GT concept car. It’s currently on tour globally, but unfortunately won’t land in markets such as ours.
It’s not all gloom and doom, though. To make up for its absence, Bentley Kuala Lumpur has introduced an augmented reality app for the EXP 100 GT, allowing visitors to explore the concept car via the latest Apple iPhones and iPads.
Through the app (it can be downloaded by scanning the QR code below), users are able to explore the vehicle in 3D, and even step inside to interact with the seats and steering wheel. Interactive elements are rather limited, but the AR experience itself is pretty unique.
The photos you see below is nearly the full scale (it’s 5.8 metres long!) and works via a placemat on the floor. A smaller, desk-sized version is also available. For those who are really eager to sample the augmented reality technology from the comfort of your home, then simply download the A4-sized version from the app and have it printed out. Again, this only works with compatible Apple devices.
If you don’t have the supporting devices, don’t worry, because Bentley KL will be opening its doors to the public at its showroom from October 23 to 31, 2019. The new Continental GT with the RM108k styling kit option will also be on display.
