The turkey’s in the oven, and that can only mean one thing: Black Friday is nearly upon us. Sure enough, the Xbox Store isn’t immune to holiday deal mania.
Like most outlets, the Xbox Store has been stretching the definition of “Black Friday”. The deals started earlier this week, with Xbox Live Gold members getting access pretty much a week early.
Nonetheless, if you’re a racing game fan — and if you’re reading this, we think it’s safe to assume you are — there are a surprising number of deals on Microsoft’s store.
Up first is Forza Horizon 4. We took a liking to biggest racing game launch of the year in our review earlier in the year, and this is the cheapest Playground’s latest has been since then. It’s down to $38.99 in its basic form, or you can consider it a free upgrade to the Deluxe Edition at the usual retail price of $59.99. The Ultimate Edition receives the same 25% discount as the Deluxe.
It isn’t the only Forza title on sale this weekend either, with the different versions of FM7 on offer too. The game recently hit its first 12-month mark, and we took a look at what’s changed (and what’s to come). With Turn 10 promising to continue working on the game through 2019, those on the fence could check it out for cheap now.
Sticking with the more simmy side of the sale, both Assetto Corsa and the Project CARS franchise see discounts. Like we did with FM7, we recently had a retrospective on Project CARS 2’s first year. If simulating real-world motorsport is your bag, you’ll want to snap it up.
We’d be remiss if we didn’t mention F1 2018. This year’s game is the best one yet, and even if you’re not a Formula One fan, it’s worth checking out.
Lastly, if you want some light-hearted fun, there’s NFS Payback, The Crew 2, and Burnout Paradise. We won’t tell you which to pick, but the remastered Burnout still has a ton of appeal, and it’s easily the cheapest at only $10 (or $7.99 for XBL Gold members).
Speaking of XBL Gold, it — as well as Game Pass — are $1 for the first month if you’re a new subscriber. We’ve listed the Gold discounts below, which typically are up to 10% cheaper than the regular deal price. Happy hunting!
