The claim has been made in a letter about the issue which has been sent to the Chancellor, Rishi Sunak, by one of those opposed to the limits at Kingfisher Caravan Park in Ingoldmells. The issue stemmed from the Council’s introduction of an age limit on the site’s caravans, which it says it’s a 20-year limit.
This was due to be introduced at the end of the year.
A representative of the residents says it is actually a 15-year limit with the possibility of the council allowing five, one-year extensions.
The letter to Rishi Sunak was penned by Stuart Allen and is said to represent more than 100 caravan owners on the park who are taking the council to court.
Mr Allen said that there had not yet been a response from the Treasury.
He continued to say that the letter demonstrated his group’s determination to “move forward” in opposing the imposition of age limits.
According to Lincolnshire Live, the group claims that in October 2019, the council informed people on the site of changes to contracts.
This meant there could be no caravans that were more than 15 years old on it.
This was delayed as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

The group now says that the council has now set a deadline of the end of this year for certain caravans to be removed.
Mr Allen’s letter to the Chancellor argues that something needs to be done to stop the age limit.
It reads: “The obvious thing to do commercially is to stop the process, concede the mistakes and encourage the owners that are left to stop with the council.
“Some would stop and upgrade, others would tell people that everything has gone back to the way it should be and the site is again a wonderful place to be – encouraging new sales and increasing income.
