As temperatures across the UK drop, motorists are once again getting frustrated by fogged-up windscreens, which can be both annoying and dangerous.
However, the automotive YouTube user @automartkm has shared an effective way of quickly clearing condensation from a windscreen.
In the video, @automartkm explained that the fastest way to clear car windows is by turning on the air conditioning.
He explained: “We just need to turn on the air conditioner and turn on the front windshield defogging switch.
“After a while, all the fog on the windscreen will disappear.”

In the video, @automartkm turned on his car’s air conditioning system before pressing the ‘demist’ button, which features a symbol of a curved windscreen with three arrows pointing upwards.
By using the air conditioning, the damp air inside the vehicle is being sucked out and replaced by much drier air, helping to clear the screen.
Drivers who own a car that does not feature air conditioning are advised to roll down the side windows for the same effect.

According to the RAC, drivers can further speed up the time needed to demist a windscreen by following several steps with the heater in their car.
Before setting off, they should set the heater to blow cold air, gradually increasing the temperature as the journey progresses.
In addition, many new cars include a demisting function as part of their climate control system, which the RAC advised motorists to use.
Whilst it may seem trivial to cut down the time spent clearing a windscreen from condensation, it can save drivers from hefty fines.
According to the Highway Code, windscreens and all windows in a vehicle must not be obstructed from the driver’s vision.
Motorists found driving a vehicle with a blocked or misted windscreen, police could issue them a fixed penalty fine of up to £2,500 and three points on their licence.
