Farage Talks About The Ulez In The Part Of Rural London Where He Lives
Petrol and diesel drivers collecting family or friends from Heathrow Airport could be slapped with hefty charges under Sadiq Khan’s new Ultra Low Emissions Zone (ULEZ) rules.
The UK’s largest airport falls inside the expanded ULEZ charging zone meaning visitors will be liable for charges.
Driving inside the zone is now payable by a £12.50 per day fee after the zone expanded on August 29.
But, road users who travel without understanding the rules will be issued a fine by Transport for London (TfL).
Reform UK leader Richard Tice raised awareness of the issue on Tuesday evening as he warned many motorists based outside London were likely unaware of the changes.

He told GB News: “What people haven’t picked up on is for example if you’ve got a nine-year-old diesel car in perfectly good shape and you’re driving from Banbury to drop someone off at Heathrow Airport, you will be charged this ULEZ scheme.
“You won’t know. All of a sudden you’ll get a fine through your door of £180. You’ll go ‘what’s this’.”
Holidaymakers leaving their cars at the airport will also be liable for fees which could catch many motorists unaware.
However, the daily charge is only applicable when a vehicle is driven inside the zone and not when it remains stationary.
It means those leaving their vehicles at the airport will only pay £25 for two trips inside the ULEZ and not over the course of their entire holiday.

Heathrow Airport confirmed its terminals would be affected by the new plan in a statement online.
They said: “London’s Ultra Low Emission Zone, or ULEZ, is expanding to encompass all of Greater London, including Heathrow Airport, from 29 August 2023.
“The initiative, implemented by Transport for London (TfL), is aimed at reducing air pollution in London.
“From the 29 August 2023, Heathrow is scheduled to become a part of this zone, meaning that all vehicles entering the airport must meet certain emissions standards in order to avoid paying a daily charge.”
The new extension has seen ULEZ fees applied to residents as far out as Harrow and Bromley.
The £12.50 per day fee would mean locals are forced to cough up £87.50 per week or £375 per month to use their vehicle every day.
Mr Tice feels people will just be “unable to pay these fines” which could lead to court cases “all over the place”.
He added: “I think the level of anger they have no idea where this goes. I don’t know where it goes. My prediction is I don’t think this is sustainable through until next May. Something will have to give.
“I have never in my adult life felt, sensed, heard the level of anger from so many people from all walks of life. Decent, ordinary, folk.”
