BMW Malaysia has begun accepting pre-bookings for the all-new G29 BMW Z4, which was previewed during the launch of the G20 3 Series recently. Just like the G15 8 Series before it, interested parties will need to fork out RM5,000 to place a booking, but you can also register your interest for free.
During the preview of the Z4, we were introduced to a left-hand drive example of the range-topping M40i variant, which packs a 3.0 litre turbocharged straight-six engine with 335 hp (340 PS) and 500 Nm of torque.
However, we were told that the M40i won’t be coming our way, and instead, it’s the mid-tier sDrive30i that customers will actually be able to buy. Engine-wise, the sDrive30i comes with a 2.0 litre turbocharged four-cylinder delivering 255 hp (258 PS) and 400 Nm.
An eight-speed Steptronic Sport automatic transmission is standard across the Z4 line-up, with drive going to the rear wheels only. In terms of performance, the sDrive30i will take 5.4 seconds to complete the zero to 100 km/h sprint, before maxing out at 250 km/h.
Final pricing of the Z4 sDrive30i hasn’t been revealed, but it is estimated to retail at RM460,000, according to our previous report. Interested? Well, head on over here then.
