The zone, which currently covers the same area as the Congestion Charge zone, has received a mixed response since its launch in 2019. Despite the uncertainty, the zone is set to expand in October 2021, which will see more Londoners face a charge for their high-emission vehicles.
New research from Bikesure, found that 72.2 percent of drivers have considered changing vehicles as a result of the ULEZ.
In addition to this, 84.1 percent of Londoners will continue to drive or ride in the ULEZ following its expansion.
Around 60 percent of Londoners will be affected by the ULEZ expansion, which is expanding from central London to create a single larger zone.
This will be up to the North Circular Road (A406) and South Circular Road (A205), although the North and South Circular Roads themselves are not included in the zone.
Although there is criticism of the ULEZ zone, more than three quarters of Londoners support the concept of a clean air zone, no matter the impact it has on their lives.
While just less than 10 percent of people have already committed to a new mode of transport, a huge 72.2 percent are considering it.
With around 3.8 million people living within the ULEZ expansion area, this mindset could help to achieve the reductions in the air pollution the scheme is hoping to achieve.
The ULEZ has already had an impact on drivers with 11.1 percent of respondents in Wandsworth having already disposed of their vehicles.

This is followed by Hammersmith and Fulham with eight percent getting rid of their cars and Hackney with 7.5 percent.
In total, 2.9 percent of drivers had ditched their vehicles prior to the introduction of the zone in 2019.
When asked “Has ULEZ accelerated your intentions to buy an electric vehicle?”, 73.4 percent responded with “yes”.
