Hertz to Pay SEC $16M Fine for Accounting Errors

Hertz Global Holdings has agreed to pay a $16 million fine to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) over accounting errors, Reuters reports.

Starting in 2012, Hertz's public financial reports misstated pretax income due to accounting errors made in certain business units and over several financial reporting periods.

By agreeing to pay the fine, Hertz did not admit to or deny the SEC's claims.
