The Lotus Evija configurator will utilize advanced gaming software and an ultra-powerful graphics processor.
Lotus today revealed a gallery and a short video teasing its touchscreen configurator designed especially for the upcoming all-electric hypercar Evija, scheduled for market launch later this year.
This extraordinary and unique two-seater (only 130 will ever be made) is required to offer deep personalization – “from striking exterior paint color combinations to highly detailed interior trim”. The company intends to visualize the bespoke specification from every angle, inside and out, using a special configurator, equipped with an ultra-powerful graphics processor to create “stunning high-definition ‘photo-realistic’ images and animations.”
“Thanks to an advanced imaging technique known as ray-tracing, they can even place their Evija into multiple environments around the world to see how localised sunlight levels will affect their choices. The final element is the creation of a fully personalised ‘360 degree fly-through’ film exclusive to each customer.”
The new gallery and video show three example colors:
Lotus announced also that at regular intervals during the purchase process, customers will receive a unique gift “to reflect the exclusive and technical nature of the Evija”.
“That will culminate in a beautiful hand-crafted build book, packed with stunning imagery of the customer’s individual car during key moments of its assembly. The book will be presented to the customer with their Evija key as part of the handover celebrations.”
