Hyundai to launch 13 alternatively-fuelled cars by 2022

Hyundai has announced its commitment to introduce 13 electrified cars by 2022. The new line-up will include six sedans and seven SUVs, and they will either be regular petrol-hybrid, plug-in hybrid, or fully electric.

Upcoming models include the updated Ioniq Electric, Ioniq Hybrid, and Ioniq Plug-in Hybrid, all three of which will be unveiled at the Los Angeles Auto Show later this month. The trio will be joined by the all-new Sonata Hybrid sedan (with solar roof!) next year, while the remaining nine eco-focused products will be introduced over the next three years in stages.

Hyundai Motor America’s vice president of product, corporate and digital planning, Mike O’Brien said: “As the automotive industry evolves to meet the needs of a diverse customer base and environmentally-aware society, we will continue to provide alternative-propulsion options in a variety of product choices.”

“For consumers seeking forward-thinking and eco-friendly personal transportation options, Hyundai’s product line-up meets these criteria and more,” he added.
