Renault ZOE remains the top-selling BEV in France with a huge advantage over Tesla Model 3.
After a record March, plug-in electric car sales in France continue to grow. The number of new registrations increased some 66% year-over-year to 5,235. The market share of passenger plug-ins amounted to 2.4%.
- Passenger BEVs: 3,222 registrations (up 70%) at 1.7% market share
- Passenger PHEVs: 1,320 registrations (up 56%) at 0.7% market share
- Light commercial BEVs: 693 registrations (up 72%)
- Total: 5,235

Tesla Model 3 wasn’t able to repeat its superb result from March (1,153) and with just 251 new registrations, it landed in third in April, behind the Renault ZOE (1,472) and Nissan LEAF (347).
Noticeable results were posted also by Kia Niro EV (e-Niro) – 239, BMW i3 (202), Hyundai Kona Electric (161) and Renault Kangoo Z.E. (371). The best plug-in hybrid – Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV – noted 281.
