Kia's new 2020 Telluride SUV is named after a Colorado mountain town, and outdoor adventurers won't be disappointed by the Telluride's off-road chops. We had a chance to crawl over all sorts of different types of terrain during a test drive at the 2018 Specialty Equipment Market Association Show in Las Vegas and it took it all in stride.
We first saw the Telluride in concept form at the 2016 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, and it appeared in production trim earlier this fall during New York Fashion Week. Some of the concept version's boxy lines have been rounded out for the production model, but the Telluride's rugged look remains.
Specs are still unclear, but Kia says the 2020 Kia Telluride will come with a V-6 engine and be longer and wider than Kia's largest SUV, the Sorento. It will offer seating for up to eight occupants — one more than the Sorento.
The 2020 Telluride is scheduled to hit dealerships in early 2019. Check back with us in mid-January after we get a closer look during the 2019 Detroit auto show.
