Land Rover India today announced the introduction of locally manufactured Range Rover Velar. Bookings for the India-made Range Rover Velar have been officially opened today, and deliveries will commence from May 2019. In fact, we were the first ones to tell you that Land Rover will begin assembling the Range Rover Velar in India back in October 2018 itself. The locally-assembled Land Rover Range Rover Velar has been priced at ₹ 72.47 lakh (ex-showroom, India) and it will be available in both petrol and diesel options in India.
Announcing the local production of the Range Rover Velar, Rohit Suri, President & Managing Director, Jaguar Land Rover India said, “We continue to focus on providing the best of British design, luxury and technology at highly competitive prices and we are sure that local manufacturing of the Range Rover Velar will make it even more desirable. This also reaffirms our commitment to the Indian market and to our customers.”

India-made Range Rover Velar will be available in the R-Dynamic S derivative
Available in the R-Dynamic S derivative, the locally manufactured Range Rover Velar comes loaded with features like – Touch Pro Duo, Activity Key, Wi-Fi and Pro Services, Meridian Sound System (380W), Four-zone Climate Control, Cabin Air Ionisation, Premium Leather interiors, 50.8 cm (20) wheels with full-size spare wheel, R-Dynamic exterior pack, Adaptive Dynamics, Premium LED headlights with signature LED DRL, Park Assist etc.

Under the hood, the Range Rover Velar is offered with the option of either 2.0-litre petrol or a 2.0-litre diesel engine, both from the company’s Ingenium family. The 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine makes about 247 bhp and develops 365 Nm of peak torque, while the 2.0-litre diesel engine is tuned to develop 177 bhp and 430 Nm of peak torque. Both engines come mated to an automatic torque converter.
