To mark the tenth anniversary of the Lexus ‘F’ performance brand, the company’s European division has unveiled the LFA Art Car, which will debut at the Total 24 Hours of Spa race this weekend. The car also marks the debut of two RC F GT3s at the iconic endurance race by the Emil Frey Lexus Racing team.
Based on the LFA Nürburgring Package, the livery on the car’s skin was designed by Portuguese artist Pedro Henriques to show an organic pattern expressing the feeling of movement and constant evolution with the familiar lines of one of the most recognisable supercars in history.
“My inspiration for this livery was the idea of fluidity present in the contemporary life, where things are in constant movement and it’s hard to freeze anything. The lines in the drawings follow this feeling of going everywhere and never stopping; a progressive life. I wanted to reach an organic feeling by using handmade material and liquid lines in the elements spread through the car. By doing this I hope to express a feeling where the car becomes a less defined shape, in constant mutation in its movement,” Pedro explains.
Mechanically, the LFA retains its howling 1LR-GUE 4.8 litre naturally-aspirated V10 that makes 571 PS and 480 Nm of torque. Compared to standard LFA, the Nürburgring Package introduces a recalibrated transmission for faster shift times as well as additional aero elements.
