Lotus is Drifting Home for Christmas With the Evora 410

If there’s a better way to get into the festive spirit than to attach a Christmas tree to a $140,000 sports car and take it drifting, we don’t know what it is. Fortunately Lotus agrees, and threw in a whistle-stop tour of its headquarters near Norwich too.

The clip, released on Lotus’s official Youtube channel, starts with the Evora 410 arriving at the factory, near the little town of be-Hethel-hem. Despite the impatience of the driver, he’s allowed on-site by a reluctant security guard. Presumably the filming received approval from Lotus CEO, the good Qingfeng… ceslas.

Our hero then brings the spirit of this most wonderful time of the year to all corners of Lotus’s headquarters. Although he takes a bit of a slower approach to the assembly line area, presumably not wanting to deck the halls with bits of Lotus, for much of the clip you can hark the Hethel engine sing.

The tannenbaum stands up well to the Evora’s antics right up until the video’s climax. That reveals that our driver’s just been rocking around with the Christmas tree on the way to deliver it to the company’s reception area.

Although the clip doesn’t exactly cover 2,000 miles, it shows most of the factory site. There’s even a visit from James Bond’s Lotus Esprit from The Spy Who Loved Me — and that’s a Christmas Day film if ever we saw one.

Lotus is also celebrating its 70th birthday this year, meaning the brand is a true fairytale of Norfolk. Okay, we’ll stop now.
