Sime Darby Auto Performance (SDAP) has announced that the facelifted Porsche Macan will make its local debut on June 21, 2019, and interested customers can begin placing their bookings now.
For now, only the base Macan variant is being offered, which is priced at RM455,000 (includes all applicable duties, except registration fee, road tax and insurance) and includes a four-year warranty plus and maintenance package. With the 360 Financing Calculator, SDAP is offering an attractive monthly ownership fee from RM 5,700 for the new Macan.
Under the bonnet, there’s a 2.0 litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine that develops 252 PS (248 hp) and 370 Nm of torque. A seven-speed PDK dual-clutch gearbox and Porsche Traction Management (PTM) active all-wheel drive system are part of the powertrain as well.
Performance-wise, the Macan will complete the zero to 100 km/h sprint in 6.7 seconds and hit a top speed of 225 km/h. The combined fuel consumption is rated at 8.1 litres per 100 km, while CO2 emissions is 185 grammes per km.
As part of the facelift, the Macan’s lighting units have been revised, with a new design for the front LED headlamp clusters. Meanwhile, the rear gets a three-dimensional LED light panel to bring it in line with the latest Cayenne, and the taillights themselves mimic the four-point design of the headlamps. Other external changes include new bumpers that accentuate the width of the SUV.
Moving inside, the centre stack has been redesigned to accommodate the new Porsche Communication Management (PCM) system, which consists of a 10.9-inch touchscreen in place of the previous 7.2-inch unit. The widescreen display requires the middle air vents to be reprofiled and shifted below the infotainment screen.
Inside, the revised Porsche Macan receives Porsche Communication Management, which sees the centre console touchscreen display grow from seven to 11 inches across. Its user interface can be customised into predefined tiles as on the Panamera and the Cayenne, and the centre pair of air-conditioning vents have also been redesigned as well as repositioned beneath the central touchscreen.
For the Malaysian market, the Macan comes with the Premium Package, whereby standard equipment includes 14-way power seats at the front with memory function, ambient lighting, Power Steering Plus Park Assist, automatic dimming mirrors and a Bose sound system.
Customers also have plenty of options to choose from, with 18- to 21-inch wheels available, as well as the Sport Chrono Package that also comes with a GT sports steering wheel. Other available options, including exterior colours, can be requested from your preferred Porsche dealer.
