Turn 10 Studios has taken the wraps off the latest free car for Forza Motorsport 7 players. No, it’s not any of the recently-revealed Hot Wheels vehicles: it’s a 45-year-old, 1,500hp Porsche race car.
Even with the free toy-themed pack, the Microsoft studio is continuing its 2018 trend of featuring a spotlight car in each of the monthly FM7 updates. The team already showed off two Porsches earlier in the year, and November’s showcase car is another evolution of the 917.
Step forward, Mark Donohue’s 1973 Penske Sunoco 917/30 Can-Am Spyder. This variation was one of the most dominant race cars of all time, winning all but two of the races that year. The turbocharged, 5.4-liter flat-12 could produce anywhere from 1,100 to 1,500hp. Rare for its time, the 917/30 featured a dial in the cockpit allowing the driver to select the amount of shove.
That on-the-fly adjustment won’t be available in-game, but we’re guessing players will have their hands plenty full just trying to tame the Spyder at any power output.
The Porsche 917/30 will arrive tomorrow, November 6, and like previous spotlight cars (and the Hot Wheels pack), will be free for all FM7 players. It will accompany the latest content update, which will bring a variety of tweaks to the game, including the improved collision system Turn 10 showed off last month.
We’ll have more details tomorrow once it’s live. Keep an eye on GTPlanet’s dedicated FM7 forums for all the latest on the game.
