The classic Alec Issigonis runabout was bought by a Scottish midwife when she retired in 1963 but because she passed away just a year later the 850 Super De Luxe was placed in storage and not even touched until 1982.
The original owner’s brother-in-law took possession of the motor at that point, and he drove it for a year before selling it to its third, current, owner.
The Mini has just 7,700 miles on the clock, so on average it’s been driven for less than 140 miles a year since it was bought.
The Mini – part of the Mark I Mini series – will be up for grabs when it goes to auction in Buxton, Derbys, on April 10.
“If you have always wanted a classic early Mini, this example is pretty hard to beat”

The vintage car has been listed as having “no reserve” price, so punters could potentially snap up the stunning vehicle for a bargain price.
Roger Nowell of the H&H Classics Sales team claimed there “won’t be another” of its kind at auction.
Its history file includes all its handbooks, price list, colour chart, sales brochure as well as MOTs from 1983 and 1984, and a tax disc from 1984.
The charming little motor also has the original Aberdeen registration number.
The spare key is still in the original leather cover and the Conway plastic protective seat covers have kept the upholstery in perfect nick since JFK was in the White House.
Mr Nowell said: “It’s super rare to find.
“There were millions made but there won’t be another one with 7,000-odd miles.
“It’s unique to find a car with such low mileage.
“If you have always wanted a classic early Mini, this example is pretty hard to beat.”
