The 2023 Acura Integra Comes With an NFT if You Reserve It Early Enough

In a bid to stay relevant with the new kids, Acura announced that the first 500 reservation holders for the 2023 Acura Integra would be able to get a non-fungible token (NFT). The digital-based item isn’t the only ridiculous buzzword feature that potential Integra viewers can use, as Acura will also launch a “virtual showroom” on the metaverse on March 22, 2022, just in time for metaverse fashion week.

Fortunately, it seems it will be a bit more than a digital image of a weird looking monkey, as the NFT Acura is giving away is exclusively designed by 3D artist, Andreas Wannerstedt. His work is certainly unique and interesting, paying with form, color and texture in his various digital artworks, so there is that going for it, but Acura has yet to offer any indiction of what the actual NFT will represent.

Otherwise, it’s an NFT that you can’t do anything with in the real world without having an Ethereum wallet on your phone, to prove you own it. Once you prove you own it, we’re still not sure what you do with it, besides show it off to your friends. Acura also mentions that these 500 NFTs will remain available until they are all gone, so if any of the first 500 reservers don’t actually take it with their reservation, the next one in line who does opt for one will get it.

The other big news is called Acura of Decentraland, and no, we aren’t making that ridiculous name up. It’s a digital showroom housed in the metaverse—Facebook’s second-rate version of Second Life—at www.acuraverse.com.

This virtual showroom will open to everyone on March 22, 2022 and will allow visitors to view the 2023 Integra in different paint and options. They can also view a new line of clothes that are designed by the artist Wannerstedt, play the “Beat That” racing game made for Acura, and look through various interactive rooms and activities within the “showroom.”

The opening of Acura of Decentraland also coincides with metaverse’s fashion week, and you don’t need to have a reservation nor the Acura Integra NFT to enter the virtual Acura showroom. It also looks like Acura of Decentraland will also remain open past this date, or until the metaverse fades into the ether, like Facebook Credits did.
