Wednesday morning we continued our journey west. Our destination was Phoenix but we decided to make a few stops along the way. By clicking off another time zone we gained some additional time. Mary and Al Rosario and a number of the group stopped at a place in Tucson that combines two of our favorite things: hot rods and food. You either call it a hot rod shop with a restaurant attached or a restaurant where you can get your hot rod serviced. However you describe it, Hot Rods Old Vail is one cool place, and our veteran Road Tourian and ace photographer Mary Rosario got out her trusty camera and took some pictures to share.
As we entered Phoenix we made a scheduled stop at the Barrett-Jackson showroom and service center. If you have been in our hot rod hobby for more than six months you know the name Barrett-Jackson. Their TV auctions are required viewing for car enthusiasts everywhere. We were greeted by Bo Bell at the Barrett-Jackson showroom and got a great tour of the showroom and service area. It was an interesting look at another side to the Barrett-Jackson dynasty.
We are getting close now. Tomorrow we will be up and rolling for the short drive across the California border and onto Palm Springs.
