Car insurance can be broken if a provider believes you have gone against the terms and conditions of a contract. Providers may refuse to pay out on claims where an accident has been your own fault or has violated the terms you signed up to. Wet weather conditions can increase the risk of accidents as visibility and grip levels are reduced.

Rain is set to batter the UK today and over the weekend which has forced the Met Office to issue weather warnings for the South.
Motorists have previously taken to social media confused whether their policy could be invalidated by driving in the rain.
However, insurance companies have reassured motorists policies will not always be invalidated or payments refused in every accident during a weather warning.
Many car insurance firms will still provide cover in weather warnings as long as motorists drive safely and carefully based on the conditions present.
A statement from the AA revealed motorists can drive in any weather warning but urge road users to prepare for all potential risks and plan journeys ahead
They added: “Your insurance provider won’t invalidate your policy just because you had to drive in heavy snow or strong winds.
“If your car is taxed, has a valid MOT and is insured, you’re legal for being on the road.”
Admiral revealed on their website that cover would still be valid during red and amber alert weather warnings as long as motorists are following the correct rules for the road.

Aviva also assured customers that policies would be valid in red alert situations but urged motorists to only travel if it was absolutely necessary.
On social media, popular policy provider Direct Line said: “We would love to reassure all of our customers that they are covered by their insurance policy during red and amber alerts.
“People should be careful when the weather is so extreme and only drive if really necessary.”
However, car insurance can be invalidated in weather warnings and extreme conditions if road users do not take precautions.

If an insurance provider believes you have been negligent or careless behind the wheel this could be enough to invalidate a policy.
This accident will go down as an at-fault claim which would also ruin any no-claims bonus which you have previously built up.
Rule 125 of the Highway Code states driving at speeds too fast for the road and driving conditions can be dangerous.
Motorists should reduce their speed in adverse weather conditions as they need to be able to show an insurance provider they were driving safely for the weather conditions.
Your car insurance could also be invalidated if you turn your engine on and leave it running as you pop back inside.
This could be to defrost a windscreen or to take shelter from heavy rain before setting off on a long journey.
However, thieves could target your vehicle and see it as an easy opportunity to steal a car or take possessions.
Car insurance providers will not payout on a claim if your key was left in the ignition as this would be seen as gifting criminals the opportunity to access the car.
The Met Office has warned motorists journey times could be increased in yellow weather warnings as spray and flooding affect road users.
Weather warnings are in place until Saturday evening as the agency also warns floods affecting homes and businesses is likely.
