Mercedes is yet to announce the pricing of its new 2023 AMG S63 E Performance.
Mercedes-Benz has unveiled the most powerful iteration of its flagship sedan, the AMG S63 E Performance. Based on the long wheelbase version of the standard S-Class luxury sedan, the AMG S63 now gets plenty of AMG-specific features, tech & upgrades.
The S63 gets an AMG-specific grille in the front, a “jet-wing” design front bumper, larger air intakes, trapezoidal tailpipes, standard 20-inch forged alloys with the option of increasing it to 21-inches and a red-accented “S63” badge on the rear.
Inside, the S63 gets bespoke AMG upholstery & stitching on all four seats in the cabin, AMG logos on the front headrests, AMG-specific graphics on the instrument cluster & the MBUX infotainment system and a new steering wheel with different controller switches; among plenty of others. The sedan also comes with several integrated tech features, including four regeneration modes, seven dynamic select driving modes and plenty of other safety & driver assistance functions.
The new Mercedes-AMG S63 E Performance is said to carry forward the 4.0-litre V8 engine, but this time comes paired with an electric motor & battery. The hybrid powertrain is said to produce a total power output of 791 BHP and 1430 Nm. Power is sent to all-four wheels via Mercedes-Benz’s 4MATIC system, allowing the car to sprint from 0 – 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds – pretty impressive for a sedan which tips the scale at 2,520 kg. The top speed is limited to 250 km/h but can be increased to 290 km/h by choosing the AMG Driver’s package. The AMG S63 E Performance gets a 13.1 kWh battery, offering an EV-only range of 33 km.
