As per the Type Approval Certificate for the 5th generation Honda City, the sedan is expected to get a 1.5-litre, BS6 compliant petrol engine with a 6-speed manual transmission as well as a CVT option.
The new Honda City could be offered in 3 variants – V, VX and ZX in both manual and automatic options. The 1.5-litre petrol motor is rated at 119 BHP @ 6,600 rpm. There is no mention of a diesel engine option. The manual variant measures 4549 mm long, 1748 mm wide and 1,489 mm high. The wheelbase of the car is 2,600 mm. The CVT variants are longer by 20 mm, while other dimensions remain the same.
According to insider details on the car, some of the features offered on the car could include traction control, VSA, TPMS, 4 airbags, 5 headrests and 3-point seat belts, 8-inch touchscreen infotainment head-unit, cruise control and Alexa enabled telematics which will be standard across the range.
The fifth generation Honda City will be unveiled on March 16, 2020.
