There’s a choice of three very specifically chosen colours: they are the colours of the M badge itself. Laguna Seca Blue, Velvet Blue metallic and Imola Red give you zero duff options. Each paint option has a different coordinating interior, including M Heritage lettering embossed in turquoise, orange or red on the headrests.
Inside each car, only 75 of which will come to the UK, there’s also a model-specific carbonfibre trim panel in front of the passenger seat, displaying the model’s number among the 750-strong run. Stunningly, the weave itself has had the three M colours incorporated.
The CFRP roof, normally in naked carbon, is here accented by a decorative tricolour M strip along its full length. The colours are integrated into the material itself at the factory, so there are no worries about graphics coming off or fading with time.
Sales in the UK will start on 3 September, although deliveries cannot begin for a further two months after that. There’s no line on pricing yet, but expect it to fall between the £65,300 M4 Competition and the £89,130 M4 CS.
