Sir Stirling Moss has passed away. He died in the early hours at his Mayfair house. The 4-time Formula 1 runner up was 90 years old.
The British Formula 1 driver was inducted into the International Motorsports Hall of Fame in 1990. Sir Moss won 212 out of the 529 races he had entered across different categories. Between 1955 and 1961, Sir Stirling was placed second in the Formula 1 standings four times. He was third in the F1 standings on three occasions.
Sir Stirling retired from competitive racing after a crash in 1962, but continued to take part in historic racing up to 2011. He retired from race driving at the age of 81.
