If you thought the Bugatti Chiron couldn’t get any more exotic, think again. Bugatti has revealed a naked carbon-bodied Chiron inspired by a one-off it built earlier this year.
Remember the ‘La Voiture Noire’, itself an homage to the pre-WWII Type 57 SC Atlantic? The Chiron-based ultracar generated so much interest and demand from the company’s always-demanding customers that there’s now a special version of the Chiron to order.
Bugatti is not in the business of releasing a new model every month, so it has to do what it can to maintain interest and freshness in its products. Just 20 of these will be made, with the option of two finishes.
First is the Chiron Noire Elegance, with a new radiator grille design and a solid silver Bugatti ‘Macaron’ emblem. The Caractere wheels are a new design, the trademark silver-coloured C-line on the side is ‘solid metal’ and the body itself is stunning, black-coloured naked carbonfibre. There are badges aplenty outside and also inside the black-themed cabin.
Its brother is the Chiron Noire Sportive, which wears a matt black finish over the carbon skin. The C-line here is black, the four titanium exhaust tips are black and the interior is almost totally black as well.
In both cars the 8.0-litre, 1500 metric horsepower W16 remains unchanged. The price is €3 million before taxes, so make that more like €3.6 million in the UK. You can also upgrade either car to the more dynamically-focused Chiron Sport chassis setup for €100,000, the price of an entire new Porsche 911 in some markets.
