EV Motors India has collaborated with DLF, Delta Electronics India and ABB India to launch PlugNgo – a public electric vehicle (EV) charging outlet.
The company plans to install over 6,500 charging outlets across multiple cities, businesses and residential complexes over the next 5 years. These will have multiple charging stations that will be connected to PlugNgo’s cloud-based integrated software platform. The project will require an estimated investment of US$ 200 million.
PlugNgo aims to offer customized installation support, round the clock service, maintenance support and remote vehicle charge monitoring. It is based on Android and iOS platforms and has e-payment facilities. Additionally, if a vehicle on PlugNgo’s network is left stranded due to battery dissipation, the company will provide a service vehicle within 30 minutes. The chargers support all kinds of 2-wheelers, 3-wheelers, cars and buses that comply with theGlobal Charging Standards like Type -2, CCS, CHAdeMO and BIS.
Over the next 12 months, the company plans to setup 20 outlets in Delhi NCR and expand to other cities like Bangalore, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Kanpur, Kolkata, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Amritsar, Bhubaneshwar, Cochin, Indore, and Chennai. Service centres will be set up at each of these cities.
