The Harley-Davidson Pan America 1250 will compete with the BMW R 1250 GS in the Indian market.
According to a media report, Harley-Davidson is likely to launch the Pan America 1250 in India later this year. The bike has already been listed on the Indian website.
The Pan America 1250 is an adventure bike that is powered by a 1,252cc, liquid-cooled, V-twin engine. It makes 148 BHP and 127 Nm and is mated to a 6-speed transmission via a slipper clutch. While V-twin engines are synonymous with Harley-Davidson motorcycles, the Pan America’s engine revs higher and features overhead cams with variable valve timing.
The Pan America 1250 comes equipped with fully-adjustable Showa upside-down fork suspension at the front and a monoshock at the rear. Braking duties are handled by dual 320 mm discs at the front and a single 280 mm disc at the rear.
The Pan America comes with a host of advanced systems including hill-hold control, cruise control, cornering ABS, lean-sensitive traction control, semi-active suspension with adaptive ride height, adaptive headlights, tyre pressure monitoring, riding modes and a touchscreen instrument panel.
