According to a media report, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) is working on new product platforms that will underpin its BS-VI compliant 2-wheelers.
In addition to developing BS-VI compliant engines with features such as fuel injection, 3-way catalytic converter, oxygen sensor, electronic control unit and on-board diagnostics, the company reportedly plans to revamp its entire product line up.
Honda is also said to be working on the next-generation Activa, which is likely to be called Activa 6G. While details about the new model are scarce, the Activa 6G is expected to get connectivity features.
While the company hasn’t revealed the exact timeline for the launch of BS-VI products, reports suggest that the switch from the current BS-IV to BS-VI will happen in a phased manner. BS-VI regulations are set to come into effect from April 1, 2020.
