The new Skoda Slavia will be part of the brand’s MQB-A0-IN platform, which also underpins the recently introduced Kushaq SUV.
Skoda’s upcoming Slavia sedan has been spotted testing in Europe, ahead of its unveil and the eventual launch in the Indian market.
As seen from the spy images, the new Skoda Slavia is covered in camouflage, revealing little to no details of its design. However, the brand’s signature grille can be seen at the front, flanked on either side by sleek-looking LED headlamps. The side silhouette of the Slavia also reveals a fastback-style rear end, similar to that on its larger sibling, the Octavia. The rear profile is also said to feature LED tail lights.
In terms of dimensions, the Skoda Slavia will be slightly larger than the current-gen Rapid sedan on sale in the Indian market.
The new Skoda Slavia will be part of the brand’s MQB-A0-IN platform, which also underpins the recently introduced Kushaq SUV. The sedan will also carry forward the same engine and transmission options as the Skoda Kushaq. This includes the 1.0-litre TSI producing 114 BHP / 175 Nm and the 1.5-litre TSI churning out 148 BHP / 250 Nm. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual, 6-speed automatic and a 7-speed DSG.
Skoda is said to unveil the new Slavia mid-size sedan in India by the end of 2021, with a launch slated to take place sometime early next year.
