French carmaker Citroen will enter the Indian market later this year. We now have details of the brand’s first offering – the C5 Aircross.
The C5 Aircross is based on the PSA EMP2 platform. It measures 4,500 mm in length, 2,099 mm in width, 1,710 mm in height and its wheelbase is 2,730 mm. The car’s boot capacity is 580 litres, which can be expanded to 1,630 litres by folding the rear seats down.
In India, the C5 Aircross will be offered in two variants – Feel and Shine. The SUV will come equipped with LED projector headlamps with LED daytime running lights, ORVMs with integrated turn indicators, LED tail lamps and 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels.
On the inside, the C5 Aircross will get features such as an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment head-unit with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 6-speaker audio system, Comfort Seats, electrically adjustable driver seat, 2-zone automatic climate control and panoramic sunroof, among others.
The C5 Aircross will be powered by a 2.0-litre diesel engine producing 174 BHP @ 3,750 rpm and 400 Nm @ 2,000 rpm. The engine will be paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. Citroen claims a fuel economy figure of 18.6 km/l. The SUV rides on Citroen’s Progressive Hydraulic Cushions suspension.
The SUV will be equipped with a host of safety features including 6 airbags, ESP, hill start assist, hill descent control, traction control, Blind Spot Information System, Electric Parking Brake, front and rear parking sensors, rear view camera and ISOFIX child safety seat anchors.
