The 7-seater Meridian will compete with the Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour, VW Tiguan Allspace and Skoda Kodiaq.
Jeep has released a teaser video of its Meridian 7-seater SUV. It gives us a peek into the SUV’s interior.
The Jeep Meridian seen in this video is the 7-seater version. However, the SUV is likely to be offered in a 6-seat configuration featuring separate captain seats in the second row as well. The interior is wrapped in brown leather upholstery with diamond stitching on the seats.
The overall dashboard layout looks similar to the new Compass. It has a floating touchscreen infotainment system in the centre and a digital instrument cluster. The dashboard has brown suede inserts, which is a neat touch. The teaser also reveals the car’s 60:40 split rear seat and rear air-conditioning vents.
Reports suggest that the Meridian will be offered with a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine with a 48 V mild-hybrid system. The engine is likely to be paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission.
The Meridian will compete with the likes of the Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace, Skoda Kodiaq, MG Gloster, Toyota Fortuner and the Ford Endeavour in the Indian market.
