Kawasaki has launched the W800 Street in India. The retro-style street bike is priced at Rs. 7.99 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The bike will be produced in limited numbers. First deliveries are expected in mid-August 2019.
The W800 Street is said to be the successor to the 1966 Kawasaki W1. It features a round LED headlight and a twin-pod instrument cluster. It has twin chrome exhausts and a flat seat. The bike comes with telescopic fork suspension with rubber gaiters and twin shock absorbers at the rear. It rides on aluminium spoke wheels.
The W800 Street is powered by a 773cc, air-cooled, twin-cylinder engine that produces 47 BHP @ 6,000 rpm and 63 Nm @ 4,800 rpm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox via a slipper clutch. The bike is equipped with 320 mm and 270 mm disc brakes at the front and rear respectively.
The Kawasaki W800 Street is available in a single Metallic flat spark black / Metallic matte graphite grey colour option.
