The Kia Seltos will be offered with three engine options including 1.4-litre and 1.5-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engines. Detailed specifications of these powerplants have now surfaced online.
The 1.4-litre, 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine produces 138 BHP @ 6,000 rpm and 242 Nm @ 1,500-3,200 rpm. It will be offered with a 6-speed manual and 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. This engine is claimed to accelerate the Seltos from 0-100 km/h in 9.7 seconds and the claimed fuel economies are 16.1 km/l and 16.5 km/l for the 6-speed manual and 7-speed DCT variants respectively.
The 1.5-litre, naturally aspirated petrol engine produces 113 BHP @ 6,300 rpm and 144 Nm @ 4,500 rpm. It will be available with a 6-speed manual and CVT. The claimed fuel economy figures for both manual and CVT versions are 16.5 km/l and 16.8 km/l respectively. This engine is said to accelerate the Seltos from 0-100 km/h in 11.8 seconds.
Finally, the 1.5-litre diesel unit makes 113 BHP @ 4,000 rpm and 250 Nm @ 1,500-2,750 rpm. It is claimed to take the SUV from 0-100 km/h in 11.5 seconds. Transmission options offered with this engine include a 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic. Fuel efficiency of both versions is claimed to be 21 km/l and 18 km/l respectively.
